Pure Smile Honey Apple Essence Mask

Hi whoever is reading this~

Today I'm going to review this yummy looking honey apple mask from Pure Smile!

Pure Smile is Japanese brand manufactured in Korea!
I've used Pure Smile masks before and I like them. They leave my skin feeling so soft and glowing~ The only thing that bothers me with them is that compared to My Beauty Diary, their masks feel kind of thick and slimy. But they have Vitamin E, Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid and Arbutin!!! They have so many different types too, I've seen snail, snake venom, jellyfish, quartz... I can't find these (except snail) in my local stores and only in certain places online where it's like ten dollars for one mask! These are supposed to be $1.50, which is stupid.

Looks so yummy!!!!

I got this at the store Make Asobi in LA~

Here's a picture with it on me! Upon opening it I immediately smelled yummy honey!!!! The best smelling mask I ever put on!!!

Like all the other Pure Smile masks, it left me with skin feeling so nice! My skin felt almost tightening with this one and it's not as slimy as the other Pure Smile masks I've used. If you don't like the smell of honey don't get this mask because the smell doesn't go away that much after you put it on. I really liked the smell staying because it's a light, sweet honey scent!

Here was the shape of the mask. Ignore the weird black marks on the side, I did a clay mask before this mask!! Maybe I'll review that too! Even though this one is supposed to be on just sheet masks... maybe I can bend the rules~

Pure Smile is one of my favorite ones because it just works for me, even my boyfriend who is into super organic only expensive stuff and thinks cheap Asian stuff is gimmicky (he's from Seoul lol!!!!) sees the difference after the Pure Smile masks. He's always impressed! Here's the pics of me after!!! I have really bad skin but in good pictures after this mask, I look like I almost have clear skin, omg!

I have a really pesky bump on the side of my face!!!! Ugh!!

I feel like my nose always looks so big on these pictures... I swear, I have a normal nose when I have makeup and stuff!!!

Compared to the Dabo Red Ginseng and MBD Black Pearl I did the other days, my boyfriend thinks this one was the best in terms of pure results.

With most face masks the next day my skin is super glowy but with Pure Smile I seem to stay sticky until I wash my face the next morning. That's one annoyance I have with this. My neck gets super super sticky with Pure Smile masks too. Yuck.

Rate... 4.5/5

Pros
Makes my skin look brighter, moisturized and happy
Smells like sweet honey
More intense effects than other sheet masks I've used

Cons
Super sticky
Paper is kind of thick
In the morning, I can feel a film of essence sliding off my face when I wash it... I guess it is not good at absorbing, even overnight

Okay, I think this is one of my favorite Pure Smile masks now other than the snail! Byeee~~~~

My Beauty Diary Black Pearl Mask

Hi~

Today I'm doing the Black Pearl Mask from 我的美麗日記/My Beauty Diary. It is a Taiwanese brand but I know it's very popular in all of Asia. It's also getting popular in America, some My Beauty Diary masks is being sold in Walmart of all places!!! So cool.

I've done MBD masks before and I like them but I haven't tried the black pearl variety. That sounds like a lie since these masks come in packs of ten but I got this Christmas special on Amazon... it was like two each of the popular varieties. I thought it would be a good deal so I can figure out which ones I like the most and then buy those in packs of ten~

I heard this one is really good soo... I'm excited~

My Beauty Diary masks have the best cotton masks in my opinion. They stay onto your face, feel really full of serum and are SUPER thin~ The pure smile masks leave my face feeling great but the masks themselves are thick, slimy and gross feeling.

These masks are so see through! See how thin they are! And how red my ugly face is...

Once the mask is on for a while they get white and less see through.

Here's the mask after I was done with it so you can see the shape and stuff~

Aaand... here are the results! Of my face!

The first is before and the second pic is after. Excuse my big nose and redness and everything!

I had really high hopes for this mask but it didn't really really deliver. My marks were still red and usually after most face masks, they are lightened and calmed down a lot. Not really a lot with this one... also, my skin felt soooo sticky after this mask... but this is normal with MBD masks. I just go to sleep after and I end up fine! Hopefully my skin will look better tomorrow morning, but we'll see...

My face definitely looks better after the mask but it wasn't a huge difference in real life. Pictures aren't that representative sometimes~

Usually my skin looks noticeably smoother and brighter but I didn't feel this way with this one... I wish I could have liked it! I like other MBD masks, I guess the black pearl isn't for me~ even the dabo eco lifestyle red ginseng mask made my skin feel more bright and those are not famous like MBD!

Also, I was reading the ingredients... where is the black pearl in these masks? Can somebody identify? Lol!

Rate - 2.5/5

Pros
Super thin mask
Lots of serum
Moisturizes

Cons
Didn't really brighten my skin as much as other face masks
Skin kind of looks the same after the mask...
Overhyped

This mask wasn't bad... it just... wasn't good enough to be memorable or for me to want to buy it again! Such a letdown but at least I tried it~

Bye~

Dabo Eco Life Style Red Ginseng Essence Mask Pack

My first review!

I recently got sucked into the world of Asian sheet masks... they're cheap, easy to use, and there are so many varieties to try! This is definitely not the first sheet mask I've used, but this the first one I will write about! Yay!

This one is the Dabo Eco Life Style Red Ginseng Essence Mask Pack~ I bought it in Little Tokyo in LA at Maneki Neko in the Japanese Village plaza. This mask is made in Korea and apparently their website is leeblese.com, according to the back of the mask pack. My beautiful little cousin Aliyah picked this one out for me~

The Engrish is so cute!

The directions are unique, most of these masks want you to leave it on for only 10-20 minutes... this one says 30! And it says to tap the pouch prior to opening to mix the ingredients... I forgot to do it but it didn't seem to be an issue!

This mask is very poorly cut. The shape is super weird, you can tell in this pic...

Here's an obligatory goofy picture of me with the mask!

See how bad it fits? Usually I can get it to work but this looks so goofy!

The paper above my lip was lopsided when it was on my face. Usually these masks are very uniform... and this one also didn't have eye flaps. Weird!

It was also really hard to adjust to my face but I got it to work... eventually.

My skin was feeling like it was tightening as this mask was on... I've done lots of sheet masks and that never happens. The ones I use usually are just ultra hydrating. Usually I feel kind of sticky after but I don't mind because I wake up to glowing, moisturized skin. This one didn't leave me with sticky residue but my skin looked and felt tighter! It didn't feel dry either~ it moisturized without leaving me sticky and icky~

Excuse the tiny marks above my lip :( and my ugly no makeup face~ I had a busy stressful week and I broke out~

Generally, I will buy this again~ cheap and effective~

Pros
You can feel the tightening while it's on~
Moisturizing but not sticky
Cheap

Cons
Shape of mask is really annoying
You have to keep it on longer than usual but I don't mind this~
